Krishnan, Charlie Chaplin of India or Nagercoil Sudalaimuthu Krishnan was an Indian actor, comedian, playback singer, writer and film director. He had one child, Kalaiselvi Krishnan.
N.S. Krishnan is regarded as one of the finest comedians and actors of Indian cinema. He started his career as a stage artist and later became a prominent figure in Tamil cinema. He was known for his impeccable comic timing, witty one-liners and flawless acting skills. Apart from acting, he had also directed a few films and composed music for a few of them.
Krishnan was also a well-known playback singer, and his songs continue to be popular to this day. His most famous song is "Suttum Vizhi Sudar Thaan Kannamma" from the movie "Karnan," which is considered a timeless classic.

He was best known for his contributions to the Tamil film industry during the 1940s and 1950s. Devan started his career as a writer and his first published work was the short story "Kudiyai Vaanginum", which appeared in Sudesamithran in 1935. He then transitioned to acting, making his debut in the film Sathi Leelavathi in 1936. Devan went on to act in numerous films and also wrote screenplays for several others. He was known for his versatility and ability to play a wide range of characters. Devan was also instrumental in launching the careers of several actors and actresses, including Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini. He passed away at the young age of 43 due to a heart attack. Born to British parents in India, Eric Maturin grew up in a family with a strong theatrical tradition. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London and made his professional acting debut in 1904. Over the course of his career, he appeared in dozens of stage productions, including plays by Shakespeare and Shaw, and worked with leading theatre companies such as the Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
