George Obadiah

George Obadiah (November 17, 2014-November 17, 1996 Israel) a.k.a. Gorji Obadiah, George Ovadiah or George Ovedia was an Iraqi actor, film director, film producer and screenwriter.

He was born in Baghdad, Iraq and began his career in the 1940s as an actor in Iraqi cinema. He later moved to Israel where he continued his career in the film industry. Obadiah acted in over 80 films and directed more than 30 films throughout his career. He was known for his comedic roles in films such as "Ad Hevra" and "Halahaka" and his dramatic roles in films such as "Yoman" and "Etz O Palestine". Obadiah also produced and wrote scripts for several of the films he directed. He was considered one of the most successful and prominent filmmakers in Israel in the 1960s and 1970s.
