Momoko Sakura

Momoko Sakura (May 8, 1965 Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka-) a.k.a. 三浦美紀, みうら みき or Miki Miura is a Japanese writer and mangaka.

She is best known for creating the immensely popular manga and anime series, Chibi Maruko-chan. Sakura began her career as a mangaka in 1984 and published her first serialized work, "Pumpkin Night", in 1989.

However, it was not until 1990 when she created Chibi Maruko-chan, a semi-autobiographical story about a young girl growing up in Shimizu, Shizuoka, that Sakura became a household name. The series quickly gained a large following in Japan and has since been adapted into various forms of media, including a long-running anime series, numerous feature films, and even a stage musical.

Sakura has also written other popular manga series such as Coji-Coji and Minna de Odorouyo!. In addition to her manga work, she has authored several essay collections and has been a regular guest on variety shows in Japan.

Sakura passed away on August 15, 2018, at the age of 53, due to breast cancer. However, her influence on the manga industry and popular culture in Japan will continue to be felt for years to come.

Masahiro Takashima

Masahiro Takashima (October 29, 1965 Tokyo-) a.k.a. Takashima Masahiro or Starless Takashima is a Japanese actor.

He made his acting debut in 1985 and quickly gained popularity for his roles in films and TV dramas, such as "The Passage to Japan" (1987), "In the Line of Duty 4: Witness" (1989), and "Seibu Keisatsu" (1990). Takashima also ventured into directing and producing, and his directorial debut "I Just Didn't Do It" (2006) was a critical success.

Apart from his work in the entertainment industry, Takashima is known for his advocacy for the LGBT community in Japan. In 2003, he publicly came out as gay and has since been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights, including advocating for same-sex marriage legalization in Japan.

Takashima has received several accolades throughout his career, including the Best Actor award at the Moscow International Film Festival for his role in "The Sting of Death" (1990) and the Best Supporting Actor award at the Japanese Academy Awards for his performance in "20th Century Boys" (2009).
