Zamanbek Nurkadilov (January 15, 1944 Kegen-November 11, 2005) otherwise known as Zamanbek Nurkadilov Kalabaevich was a Kazakhstani politician.
Nurkadilov was a prominent figure in the Kazakhstani political scene and had held several high-ranking positions throughout his career. He served as the mayor of Almaty from 1997 to 2004 and also served as a regional governor and a member of parliament.
However, Nurkadilov was also known for his controversial stance against President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his government, which led to his dismissal from his positions and his subsequent turn to opposition politics. He also accused the government of corruption and embezzlement, which put him at odds with the ruling party.
Nurkadilov's death in 2005 was surrounded by controversy and speculation.
