Shekhar Mehta (June 20, 1945 Uganda-April 12, 2006 London) was a Kenyan personality.

Shekhar Mehta was a renowned rally driver, who won the prestigious Safari Rally five times in a row from 1979 to 1983. He was the first non-European to win the British Rally Championship in 1980, and also won the Kenyan National Rally Championship five times. Mehta was also actively involved in the development of motorsport in Kenya and served as the chairman of the Kenya Motor Sports Federation from 1983 to 1999. He was also a successful entrepreneur, setting up a car dealership and a driving school in Nairobi. In addition to his contributions to the motorsport and business world, Mehta was a philanthropist who worked to support education and healthcare initiatives in Kenya.

He died caused by hepatitis.
