Vasily Kachalov (February 11, 1875 Vilnius-September 30, 1948 Moscow) a.k.a. V.I. Kachalov, Vassili Ivanovich Kachalov or Vasili Ivanovich Shverubovich was a Lithuanian actor.
He was known for his work in the Moscow Art Theatre and is considered one of the finest actors of his generation. Kachalov's career spanned several decades and he worked with some of the most prominent Russian playwrights of the time, including Anton Chekhov and Maxim Gorky. He was also a teacher, and many of his students went on to become successful actors in their own right. Kachalov's performances were characterized by his ability to convey complex emotions with great subtlety and nuance, and he was also known for his skill with physical comedy.
