Luis Beristáin began his acting career in the 1930s and quickly became a prominent figure in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. He appeared in over 60 films, playing a variety of roles ranging from suave leading men to menacing villains. Some of his most notable performances include his role as the villainous Captain Jacques in the film "El Capitán Malacara" (1945) and as the male lead in the classic melodrama "Enamorada" (1946).
In addition to his film work, Beristáin also appeared on stage and on television. He was a regular on the popular TV show "Mujer, casos de la vida real" in the 1980s.
