He was known for his comedic roles and acted in over 90 films throughout his career. Rasumny began his acting career in the 1920s in the Soviet Union and later moved to Poland, France, and the United States. He immigrated to the US in the 1930s and continued to act in films, often playing the role of Eastern European characters. Rasumny also appeared in several Broadway productions, including "The Straw Hat" and "The Little Giant." In addition to his acting career, Rasumny was a talented musician and played several instruments including the accordion and the piano.
