Paul Holmes

Paul Holmes (April 29, 1950 Hawke's Bay-February 1, 2013 Pukehou) also known as Paul Scott Holmes, Sir Paul Scott Holmes or Holmes, Paul was a New Zealand journalist and actor. His children are called Reuben Holmes and Millie Elder-Holmes.

Holmes began his career in journalism with Radio New Zealand and later worked for television networks TVNZ and Prime. He was well-known for his political commentary and hosted several talk shows, including "Holmes" and "Q+A". In 2012, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and took a break from broadcasting to focus on his health. Holmes passed away the following year at the age of 62. In addition to his journalism career, he also acted in several films and television shows, including the New Zealand classic "Goodbye Pork Pie". He was awarded the title of Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to broadcasting and the community in 2013, just weeks before his passing.
