Nam Il

Nam Il (June 5, 1915 Russian Far East-March 7, 1976 North Korea) was a North Korean military officer. He had one child, Nam Jong.

Nam Il was born in the Russian Far East to ethnic Korean parents. He later moved to Korea to study at Kyongsong Imperial University. During the Japanese occupation of Korea, he became involved in the resistance movement and was arrested several times by Japanese authorities.

After the end of World War II, Nam Il became involved in politics and was a member of the Workers' Party of North Korea. He held several important positions in the government, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense. He was known for his close relationship with North Korean leader Kim Il-sung and was considered one of his most trusted advisors.

Nam Il was also involved in the Korean War, serving as a political officer in the army. He played a key role in negotiations with the United States and other countries during the conflict.

In addition to his political and military career, Nam Il was also a writer and scholar. He was a prolific author, writing several books on history and politics. Nam Il passed away in North Korea in 1976 at the age of 60.
