In 1939, she emigrated to the United States and continued to act in Yiddish theater productions. She also appeared in several Hollywood films, including "The Juggler" (1953) and "The Big Knife" (1955). In addition to her acting work, Halpern was an active member of the Jewish community and worked to promote Yiddish culture. She was awarded the Israel Culture Award in 1955 for her contributions to Yiddish theater.
