He is known for his work in the avant-garde jazz and free improvisation music scenes. Oles has released numerous albums as a solo artist and as part of various ensembles, including the Marcin Oles Trio and the Oles Brothers. He has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Oles has also composed music for a number of films, including the award-winning documentary "Chemia" (2010) and the feature film "Deluge" (2013). In addition to his own work, Oles is a highly regarded bass teacher and has taught at the Katowice Academy of Music in Poland as well as giving workshops and masterclasses around the world.
