He has two children, Nadezhda Batalova and Mariya Batalova.

Throughout his career, Batalov starred in over 60 films, beginning with his breakout role in the 1955 film, "The Cranes are Flying", which won the Palme d'Or at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival.
