He was best known for his roles in the films "The Stroll" (1990) and "Brother" (1997), both directed by his friend and collaborator, Aleksei Balabanov. Fomkin began his acting career in the late 1980s and quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile actor. He appeared in a number of films and TV shows over the course of his career, and was considered one of the rising stars of Russian cinema in the 1990s. Fomkin passed away tragically in 1996 at the age of 26, when he was killed in a car accident in Vladimir, Russia.
