She was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and started her acting career in 1911 at the age of 23. Reisen appeared in more than 60 films throughout her long career, including "The Ghost That Never Returns" (1930), "The Return of Maxim" (1937), and "Twelve Chairs" (1971). She was known for her versatility and had the ability to play a wide range of characters ranging from comedic to dramatic roles. Reisen was honored with numerous awards throughout her career, including the Order of Lenin, the highest civilian award in the Soviet Union. She passed away on her 126th birthday, making her one of the oldest people to have ever lived.
