Raymond Severn (June 19, 1930 Johannesburg-November 3, 1994 Granada Hills) was a South African actor.
He appeared in numerous films, television shows, and stage productions throughout his career. Severn studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before returning to South Africa to work in theatre. He later moved to the United States with his family and continued to act in both film and television. Some of his notable film appearances include "The Naked Prey" and "The Passage," and he also appeared in popular TV shows such as "The Rockford Files" and "Starsky & Hutch." Severn was also an accomplished voice actor and lent his voice to various animated series and commercials. In addition to his acting career, he was also a painter and sculptor.
Simon Sabela (March 10, 1931 Durban-November 17, 1994) was a South African actor.
He was one of the first Black South African actors to break through the apartheid-era racial barriers in the film industry. Sabela appeared in numerous feature films, including "Zulu" (1964), "The Naked Prey" (1965), "Dingaka" (1964), and "Jock of the Bushveld" (1986). He was also a co-founder of the first Black-owned film production company, African Films. In addition to his successful acting career, Sabela was a devoted community activist and worked tirelessly to promote the rights and welfare of Black South Africans throughout his life. Sabela was posthumously awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the South African Film and Television Awards in 2010.
