Frederik Willem de Klerk (March 18, 1936 Johannesburg-) otherwise known as F. W. de Klerk is a South African lawyer, politician and attorney at law. His children are called Jan de Klerk, Willem de Klerk and Susan de Klerk.

De Klerk served as the State President of South Africa from 1989 to 1994, during which he brought about the end of apartheid and the transition to multi-racial democracy. He shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 with Nelson Mandela for their efforts towards ending apartheid peacefully. Prior to becoming President, de Klerk was involved in the political and legal aspects of the apartheid system, but later became a prominent figure in the reform movement. After leaving office, he founded the F.W. de Klerk Foundation, which promotes peace, democracy and human rights in South Africa and around the world.
