Lasse Åberg began his career in the 1960s as a member of the Swedish comedy group "Galenskaparna och After Shave". He later went on to become one of the most successful Swedish film directors of all time, directing and starring in many popular films including "Sällskapsresan" ("The Charter Trip"), which became a huge hit in Sweden.

Despite suffering from Parkinson's disease in his later years, Broberg continued to perform and create music until his death in 2015 at the age of 75.
