Pierre Dudan

Pierre Dudan (February 1, 1916 Moscow-February 4, 1984 Épalinges) a.k.a. Dudan, Pierre was a Swiss actor, composer, singer, writer, lyricist and film score composer.

He was born in Moscow to Swiss parents and grew up in Lausanne, Switzerland. Dudan began his career as a performer in Paris in the 1930s. He is best known for his work in French cinema, where he appeared in over 70 films. Dudan was also a prolific composer, writing music for films, television, and the stage. He won a César Award for Best Original Music in 1978 for his work on the film Le Crabe-tambour. In addition to his film work, Dudan also wrote several books, including a memoir about his experiences during World War II. He passed away in Épalinges in 1984.
