Eugeniusz Bodo

Eugeniusz Bodo (December 28, 1899 Geneva-October 7, 1943 Kotlas) otherwise known as Bohdan Eugène Junod, Bogdan Eugeniusz Junod, Eugene Bodo or King of Polish Actors was a Swiss film director, actor, screenwriter, singer, film producer and comedian.

He began his career in the early 1920s, appearing in various silent films and theater productions. Bodo became one of the most popular actors in Poland during the interwar period, known for his comedic talent and ability to play multiple roles. He also directed and produced several films himself.

Bodo's fame continued to grow throughout the 1930s, and he appeared in over 40 films during his career. He was especially well known for his work in romantic comedies and musicals, often playing the charming leading man. However, with the outbreak of World War II, Bodo's career came to a sudden end.

Along with his wife and son, Bodo was deported to a Soviet prison camp in 1940, where he spent the rest of his life. He continued to write and produce in captivity, but was never released. His films and performances remain a beloved part of Polish cultural history.
