Margita Stefanović

Margita Stefanović (April 1, 1959 Belgrade-September 18, 2002 Belgrade) also known as Margita "Magi" Stefanović, Margita Stefanović "Magi" or Magi was a Serbian keyboard player, musician, film score composer and actor.

Margita Stefanović started her music career in the late 1970s with the Serbian new wave band Laki Pingvini. She then moved on to form the popular Yugoslav rock band Ekatarina Velika (EKV) in 1982, where she played keyboards and sang backup vocals. EKV became one of the most influential and successful bands in the ex-Yugoslavia region during the 1980s and early 1990s.

Apart from her music career, Magi also worked as a composer for film scores, and her career in this field started in 1989 with the movie Kuduz. She went on to compose music for several films and TV series, including "Lepa sela lepo gore" (1996), "Sivi kamion crvene boje" (2004), and "Ubice mog oca" (2016).

Magi was also an actor and had small roles in a few Serbian movies, including "Kako je propao rokenrol" (1989) and "Sjaj u očima" (1989).

Unfortunately, Magi was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the 1990s, and she passed away in 2002 due to complications from the disease. Her legacy lives on through her music and the impact she made on the Serbian music scene.
