Gina Yashere (April 6, 1974 Bethnal Green-) is a British comedian, actor and screenwriter.
Yashere was born in Bethnal Green, East London to Nigerian parents. She began her career as an elevator engineer but eventually quit to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. Yashere first gained recognition in the UK comedy scene before moving to the United States where she has appeared on several American TV shows including "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" and "Def Comedy Jam". In addition to her comedy work, Yashere has also acted in several films and TV shows and worked as a writer for the sitcom "Bob Hearts Abishola". She has won several awards for her work, including the "Best Female Comedian" award at the Black Entertainment and Comedy Awards.
