He was known for his work in theater, film and television, and was considered one of the most prominent Croatian actors of his time. Crnkovic started his career as a stage actor, performing in various theaters in Zagreb before transitioning to film and television. He appeared in over 50 films and TV series throughout his career, including some of the most acclaimed Croatian movies such as "Battle of Neretva" and "The Glembays". Crnkovic also won numerous awards for his acting, including the Vladimir Nazor Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2001. In addition to his work as an actor, he was also a renowned voice actor, dubbing many foreign films and TV series into the Croatian language.
