He is best known for his roles in movies such as "The Running Man", "Stir Crazy" and "Delta Force". Prior to his acting career, Erland was an accomplished wrestler and went on to represent the Netherlands in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He also had a passion for singing and performed in several operas in the Netherlands and the United States. Van Lidth tragically passed away at the age of 34 due to heart failure as a complication of his obesity. In 1906, Solser made his film debut in the silent comedy "De Danstent in de Jordaan." He went on to appear in several other films throughout his career, including the popular short film series "Lion Solser in Amsterdam" and "Lion Solser in Paris."
Despite his success as a performer, Solser struggled with alcoholism throughout his life. He died at the age of 38 from complications related to his addiction.
