Amha Selassie
Amha Selassie (July 27, 1916 Harar-February 17, 1997 McLean) was an Ethiopian personality. He had five children, Zera Yacob Amha Selassie, Princess Ijigayehu Amha Selassie, Princess Maryam Senna, Princess Sehin Azebe and Princess Sifrash Bizu.
Amha Selassie was the last reigning monarch of Ethiopia for a brief period in 1974. He was the son of Emperor Haile Selassie and Empress Menen Asfaw. Amha Selassie attended school in Switzerland and the United Kingdom before returning to Ethiopia to take on various roles in government and the military. He served as the Governor of Harar province and later as President of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society. In 1974, he was proclaimed Emperor following the deposition of his father. However, he was overthrown in a coup d'état just days later and spent the rest of his life in exile, primarily in the United States.
