Hasan Arsanjani

Hasan Arsanjani (April 5, 2015-April 5, 1969) was an Iranian politician.

He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran from 1988 to 1992 and was also a member of the Iranian parliament. As a diplomat, he played a crucial role in negotiating with the United Nations Security Council regarding Iran's disputed nuclear program. Arsanjani was known for advocating closer relations between Iran and the West, and was a moderate voice in Iranian politics. He was also the founder of the Islamic Azad University, which is now the largest private university in Iran. Arsanjani died of a heart attack in 2017, at the age of 78.
