Claudio Scimone began his music career as a violinist and violist, performing with various ensembles before founding the baroque ensemble I Solisti Veneti in 1959. In addition to his work with I Solisti Veneti, Scimone conducted numerous orchestras and opera companies throughout his career, serving as principal conductor of the orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Montpellier Opera in France, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
