Heavy D (May 24, 1967 Mandeville-November 8, 2011 Beverly Hills) also known as Dwight Arrington Myers, Dwight Errington Myers, Dwight Myers or Heavy D. was a Jamaican singer, actor, rapper, songwriter, record producer, composer and music executive. He had one child, Xea Myers.

His discography includes: Waterbed Hev, We Got Our Own Thang, This Is Your Night, Heavy, Love Opus and Vibes. Genres related to him: Reggae fusion, New jack swing, Hip hop music and Contemporary R&B.

Heavy D was born in Jamaica and grew up in Mount Vernon, New York. He started his music career as a member of the rap group Heavy D & the Boyz in the late 1980s. The group's debut album, "Living Large," was released in 1987 and included the hit single "The Overweight Lover's in the House." Heavy D later branched out into acting, appearing in several movies and TV shows, including "Living Single," "New York Undercover," and "The Tracy Morgan Show." He also wrote and produced music for other artists, including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Jay-Z. In addition to his music and acting career, Heavy D was also involved in philanthropy and founded the Heavy D & the Boyz Foundation to support underprivileged youth. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 44 due to pulmonary embolism.
