Malden began his acting career on stage before transitioning to film and television. He is best known for his roles in movies such as "A Streetcar Named Desire," for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, as well as "On the Waterfront," "Birdman of Alcatraz," and "Patton." Malden also had a successful career on television, starring in the series "The Streets of San Francisco" from 1972 to 1977.
