She was best known for her performances in the Carry On films, a series of British comedy films released between 1958 and 1992. Sims appeared in 24 of the 31 films in the series, making her one of its most prominent actors. In addition to her work in the Carry On movies, Sims also had a successful career in the theatre, appearing in a number of West End productions. She also acted in numerous television programmes, including the popular British soap opera EastEnders.
